If the Java plugin does not appear in the Add-ons Manager even though Java is installed If you only see the Java Deployment Toolkit plugin listed in the Add-ons Manager, then Java is not properly detected. The Java Deployment Toolkit plugin, which is installed along with Java, does NOT need to be enabled for Java applets to work. Note: Starting in Firefox 23 and SeaMonkey 2.20, the button to "Disable" or "Enable" plugins has been replaced with a drop-down menu with the click-to-play options "Always Activate" to enable, "Ask to Activate" to set click-to-play, and "Never Activate" to disable ( bug 549697).
